Flora White (1878-1953) was a local
artist who was taught at Brighton School of Art 100 years ago. She lived
above the family stationers at 70 West St. opposite the church, just round
the corner from our school..
For over 20 years, Flora painted
hundreds of postcards: nursery rhymes, fairy tales and greetings cards,
also illustrating some books

We are very grateful to Mr Richard Healey of the Ocean
Cafe, West Street for donating these postcards to our school.
We believe that Flora may well have
attended our school and hope soon to check the school registers for the 1880s.
